Facts:
- First opened in 1090
- Gothic architecture
- The burial of several British kings and queens, Tom Hardy, Issac Newton, Charles Dickinson and most recently Margaret Thatcher were preformed at Westminster
- Most notable religious building in the United Kingdom
-  Pope Benedict XVI became the first pope to visit Westminster in 2010
- Westminster oversaw the writing of the first third of the King James Bible Old Testament and the translation of the last half of the New Testament.
- Since 1100, Westminster has conducted every royal wedding
- There is a Westminster School and Westminster Choir School on the grounds of the Abbey
- The Abbey holds a museum underneath the former monk dormitories that houses ancient effigies and treasures of the royals
- Westminster is an Anglican church
- The Abbey is the home of the oldest door dating back to 1050 AD; the door is oak and presides in the Chapter House
- There are 450 tombs and monument at the Abbey
- The bell procession takes 3 hours to complete; the ten bells used for celebrations and special events are used for change ringing
